Sunday's last drive for Safari TV

Hi Folks
Well that time is approaching rapidly now. The last Safari Television broadcast will be on Sunday afternoon (31st July 15:30 -17:30 CAT). Sadly there will not be a Sunday evening Fire Side Chat, however we do want to go out with an upbeat last drive and say thank you to all of our loyal viewers. So, if you have any messages, reminders of special drives past or such that you would like to share with us and to be read out on air, then please send them to lastdrive@wildearthsafari.tv. If possible, please send them before 12:00 on Sunday otherwise it may not be feasible to deal with them all. Marc and Tara will take our last drive together and take you to some of their favourite places around Djuma. This last drive will end early and in daylight at 17:30 CAT with all the crew and directors (even dear old jigga) together at the end as we have been throughout. I hope you will all join us for what we hope will be a celebration of the good times we have had together with Safari Television.
As you may know some of the staff have been able to find employment with Djuma Game Reserve which is a great relief, but not all have been so fortunate. I very much hope that the others can all find employment very soon. The world is going through some hard times but this is the best group I have ever worked with so fingers crossed.
Will

  1. My thoughts go out to those who still seek employment. I know they will find work soon and will excel well in their new futures. I only wish I could do more than extend my best wishes and thoughts.

  2. Hi Will, I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to you for the last 17 months as I am aware that this would have happened a lot sooner had it not been for you stepping in to try and save it. Thank you for trying Will and I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, good luck with the ILP, and thanks again.

  3. Sorry to hear about Safari Channel's demise and the loss of jobs for so many but very happy to hear about the continuation of drives with Marc and Tara at Djuma Game Reserve. SC was so innovative that i am glad Jurie sees the importance to keep this going. Thanks for all the wonderful drives SC.... Good Luck to all.

  4. Ditto to what Ozzy says above... thanks to you Will and all the people at Safari.tv - I am so happy Djuma will continue to give us the joy, wonder and amazement of live drives, but sad that many are losing their jobs - though I know with their proven skills they will find work... I will be there on the 31st with bells on!

  5. Unfortunately I can`t join the last drive, but let me say that I had great times with all of the Safari team and I want to thank you for all the experiences we had together.
To everyone who has to leave good luck to the future, and to the few that are staying, I`m looking forward to another adventure at Djuma

  6. I have been on safari to Kenya and Tanzania, but because of Wild Earth (Pete's pond, djuma live webcams) and live safari, I am planning a trip down your way. I am hooked and I am not the only one. If you go on Pete's pond's chat room, you will find many fans. Thank you for bringing to the internet your passion and enthusiasm for wildlife.

  7. And not to forget the Djuma Waterhole Cam... both these cams are awesome with some great sightings, and we are lucky to have great zoomies!
